LIMAPAGI – The increasing need for oxygen during emergency treatment of Covid-19 has led the provincial government of West Java (West Java) (Pemprov) to take steps to set up an oxygen battle post (posko).
Oxygen command posts for medical purposes are to be set up in 27 districts and cities in West Java.
Regional Assistant (Asda) for Economics and Development of the Regional Secretariat (Setda) of West Java Province, Taufiq Budi Santoso, said the need for medical oxygen gas is not just for Covid-19 patients treated in hospitals.
However, it is also intended for patients who self-isolate at home (Isoman) and regional isolation centers such as villages and urban villages.
“Oxygen posts are currently being set up in regency / cities. This is more of a technical discussion because people who are isomaniacal and far from health facilities (health facilities) need small oxygen bottles,” said Taufiq Budi Santoso, quoted from a written statement Tuesday, July 6, 2022.
Meanwhile, West Java COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) Daily Head Daud Achmad said that the oxygen gas demand for hospitals has been gradually met as needed until now.
“From the observations we have begun to gradually meet the demand, especially when this collaboration with BUMN is already 100 percent,” he said.
David rejected the oxygen shortage due to the effects of hoarding certain people.
According to him, the lack of availability of oxygen gas for medical purposes is due to the rapidly increasing demand from hospitals, which has even increased by more than 100 percent.
“There is no evidence of this (oxygen hoarding). This happened due to a sudden increase in demand than usual,” he said.
