What is Realist Hero?

How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom is a light novel isekai fantasy work Dojyomaru with illustrations by Fuyu Yuki first published since May 2022 by Overlap Bunko, and currently 12 volumes have been collected. The manga adaptation itself was drawn by Satoshi Ueda since July 2022, and is currently in volume 5. Realist Hero tell about Kazuya Souma summoned to another world to become a hero in dealing with fleet threats Demon Lord. However, after he learned that the kingdom Elfrieden those who summoned him were forced to perform the ritual by another kingdom, so he also used his knowledge and intelligence to help them. This even makes the king Elfrieden marveled, and gave up his throne. That’s where the journey from Souma as Realist Hero in rebuilding the kingdom Elfrieden started.

Realist Hero is a isekai fantasy that is quite interesting for those who like fantasy stories that are more related to economic aspects and community development such as Log Horizon or Maoyuu~Maou Yuusha. Just like the two stories, in this story, aspects of economic development, political relations, military strategy, and social relations are prioritized over the super magic power found in most fantasy stories. I personally liked this story from the first chapter I read. It’s been a long time since I’ve read a fantasy story that puts forward the non-adventure aspect, and is packaged quite interestingly without being overbearing.
