Hyrule Warriors 2, Breath Of The Wild Secret Project?

With the continuation of Legend of Zelda~Breath of the Wild still awaited, an announcement was made by Nintendo to confirm the sequel to the best Nintendo Switch open world game. Instead of Breath of the Wild 2, the announcement actually gave rise to a secret project which was Nintendo’s second collaboration with Koei Tecmo, entitled Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity. Apart from being a game that is the second interpretation of the Musou genre for the Zelda series, Hyrule Warriors 2 will be a prequel to Legend of Zelda~Breath of the Wild. What’s the game like? Let’s take a deeper look.

Hyrule Warriors 2 Background

Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, as the title suggests will tell the story 100 years before the game Breath of the Wild. For those who are not familiar with the history of the game Breath of the Wild, at that time, Calamity Ganon who was an evil figure who had been defeated 9900 years earlier, had returned and there was a great war between the Hylian people and the Ganon soldiers. With the premise of the background story, Eiji Aonuma as producer of The Legend of Zelda series had the idea to make a Zelda game that was more about war, so that the gameplay was like the Musou/Warriors series, which had been made in Hyrule Warriors/Zelda Musou, was chosen. With that, once again the team from Koei Tecmo was involved with the making of Hyrule Warriors 2.

Different Warriors/Musou Series

According to Yousuke Hayashi, producer for the Hyrule Warriors series, Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity will be a different Warriors/Musou series than usual. Players in general will still be able to enjoy 1 on 1000 battles like in other Warriors/Musou titles, but because this time the focus is on events that will refer to events in the first game Breath of the Wild, it seems that the story will be emphasized more in the game. . In addition, according to Yousuke Hayashi himself, due to the unique gameplay of Breath of the Wild, players will certainly be able to feel how the world was 100 years earlier. With this, does it mean that Hyrule Warriors 2 will have RPG exploration elements?

By looking at the trailer that has been released, it is certain that apart from Link, we will also be able to control several other characters. Zelda has been confirmed to be one of these characters, with 4 Guardians also filling that role. Will there be other characters that players can use in uncovering the story of 100 years ago? Then, what is the gimmick that will be used by Nintendo Switch lite / portable mode, as shown by Zelda? We will only be able to wait for full information when this game is released for Nintendo Switch on November 20, 2022. Until then, stay tuned with Otaku.Mobileague.id for more news updates.
