How to install Android Studio on a Linux operating system

Right now we Android developers don’t have to bother building applications through Eclipse, it is normal in the technology world that there is always system development and renewal and innovation. Now developers can use Android Studio to build an application.

But for developers who are used to using Linux to build applications over Android, there are many difficulties. For this time, we would like to provide some initial information on installing Android Studio on Linux.

Step 1. Install the JDK.

If you want to develop Android applications at an early stage, you need the JDK, for this JDK itself there are many versions for the JDK from version 7 is required when developing applications for Android 5.0, and the advantage is that it can also be used on Ubuntu, Debian can be installed and other Linux operating systems. If you don’t know if you have JDK installed on your Linux, please check the terminal and enter

javac –version

If it is not installed or has a JDK version below 6 (the download link is at the end of the article).

Step 2. Download Zip Android Studio for Linux.

Of course, since there are differences in the operating systems, we have to adapt the Android Studio files that can be used for Linux. (Download link is at the end of the article)

If you have unzipped the previously downloaded Android Studio file, put it in the home directory.

Step 3. Enter the code.

If you’ve followed the previous steps, you should enter the following code in the terminal:

Cd android-studio/bin./

Step 4. Follow the setup wizard

This setup wizard will appear if you haven’t installed the SDK, but don’t worry, all you need to do is follow the setup wizard to install the SDK and required SDK tools.

If it’s successful, you’ll see the appearance of Android Studio on Linux. But for a little hint to you, you may need to install the ia32libs, lib32ncurses5-dev, and lib32stdc ++ 6 packages, which are packages you need to install 32-bit applications on a 64-bit machine.
