How to get URLs / streaming links from Android apps

At a time when almost everything is connected to the internet, media such as streaming have become very popular. We all know YouTube, right? Youtube is one of the most popular video streaming media worldwide. Not only streaming videos, but also other media such as radio, TV, films and even streaming football matches are available. Especially now that the development of mobile technology, especially Android, is growing rapidly.

Streaming media are becoming increasingly popular and present user friendly with the presence of various streaming applications on Android. Some of us must be curious about how the streaming system works in Android applications, what is the url, where is it from?

Here is how to get / know the exit url of an Android application

Required things:

1. Streaming application for which we want to correct the source URL. This is where I will use the application Radio Indonesia – online radio, FM radio.

2. Application HTTP Canary.

3. Definitely an internet connection.


1. Install the streaming radio application

The first step you need to do is install the streaming media that we want to fix / monitor. In this tutorial, I am using Indonesian radio application – online radio, FM radio, you can use this application download free of charge in the Google Play Store.

2. Install the HttpCanary application

Then all you have to do is install the HttpCanary application. This application is useful for monitoring the url coming from a particular application. You can download it for free from the Play Store.

REMARKS: When you use this application, there is a chance that your internet activity will be monitored. So I suggest that you view the url that you are looking for right away CLEAR This application.

3. Run the HttpCanary application

The first time you open HttpCanary a license window will appear, click Accept keep going. Next, you will be asked to enable the VPN, click OK. After that there is a window “Install the root certificate“, Click Install.

The next step is to choose which applications should be monitored, click the + (plus) sign in the middle of the screen – select Radio Indonesia. Then click on the paper airplane picture at the bottom left of the screen.

4. Run the streaming radio application

Make sure to follow all of the above as the radio streaming application is being monitored. Here I am trying to listen to the RRI Pro 1 Jakarta radio. After the radio plays successfully, you can pause or stop the radio and return to the HttpCanary application.

5. Open the HttpCanary application again

And your final step is to open the HttpCanary application again and see list of URLs which appears there, look for the url which is roughly the streaming source for the RRI Pro 1 Jakarta radio. For more details you can see the picture above.
