Egypt’s Al-Azhar University has issued a warning to Muslims against playing Fortnite.

This was stated in a written statement on the official Facebook page of the International Electronic Fatwa Center at Al-Azhar University, Egypt, Tuesday (29/6).

Fortnite is considered to have insulted Islam because it asks players to destroy the Kaaba in order to get weapons and advance to the next level.

“The fatwa center has warned several electronic games that are harmful to the minds of young people and one of them is Fortnite,” the fatwa agency Al-Azhar wrote on Facebook.

The scene of destroying the Kaaba is feared to give negative doctrine to young people.

If played continuously, Fortnite can shake faith and make them underestimate the sanctity of the Kaaba to Islam.
