Densus 88 arrests four other suspected terrorists in Makassar

LIMAPAGI – The anti-terror police of the Sonderkommando (Densus) 88 again arrested four suspected terrorists in Makassar, South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi).

National police chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the four suspected terrorists were related to the two suicide bombers outside Makassar Cathedral.

The two male suicide bombers identified themselves with the initials L, while the female perpetrators carried the initials YSF.

“The evolution of yesterday’s bombing incident so that to date we have secured four suspects, namely AS, SAS, MR and AA. Where every role is together with L and YSF, “said Sigit on Monday, May 29, 2022, in Makassar.

Sigit said the four suspects, along with L and YSF, were members of a study group called Villa Mutiara.

“It is everyone’s responsibility to teach doctrines and prepare plans for jihad, and also to play a role in purchasing materials that will be used as tools to carry out suicide bombings,” he said.

L and YSF are husband and wife. Both, said Sigit, are members of the terrorist group Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD). The two perpetrators also carried out bomb attacks in Jolo in the Philippines.

As previously reported, the suicide attack occurred in front of Makassar Cathedral on Sunday, May 28, 2022 at 10:28 a.m. WITA. Twenty people, including church and community security services, were injured in the incident.
