LIMAPAGI – Dean Henderson’s presence in goal has become a new issue for Manchester United. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is happy with the matter.
David de Gea is Manchester United’s number one goalkeeper. In the last few games, however, his position was occupied by Dean Henderson.
In fact, the reason De Gea doesn’t play is a personal matter. The Spanish goalkeeper returned home for the birth of his first child.
In the absence of De Gea, the post under United goal belongs to Henderson. Fortunately for the Red Devils, Henderson looked pretty slick.
As a result, many think De Gea will lose his place at United. Also, Henderson was much younger than him.
However, Solskjaer denied that De Gea lost his position at United. The Norwegian coach admitted that he would not forget about the goalkeeper’s services.
The former Molde coach is actually happy about two second-rate goalkeepers. Additionally, Solskjaer believes Henderson has yet to learn.
“De Gea has been here for 10 years and has always shown a brilliant performance. He always makes high-profile saves,” said Solskjaer.
“Henderson is still learning, even though he keeps getting better. He’s starting to get better. There is no number one here, you have to show yourself through performance. “
“I’m not blind, De Gea is still a top goalkeeper. I think it is better to have three good goalkeepers than none. I feel lucky to have two.”
Henderson was a product of the Carlisle United Academy before moving to Manchester United. The Red Devils often loan the 24 year old goalkeeper to gain experience.
